James Shaibu Barka

James Shaibu Barka is a Nigerian politician who served as the Acting Governor of Adamawa State from February to April 2008. Prior to this, he was a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing the Hong constituency, where he also held the position of Speaker and Majority Leader. During his brief tenure as Acting Governor following the nullification of Governor Murtala Nyako's election, Barka implemented significant administrative changes, including the dissolution of several state commissions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
