James Small-Edwards is a British politician serving as a Member of the London Assembly for West Central since 2024. A member of the Labour Party, he made history as the first non-Conservative representative for the West Central constituency since the assembly's creation in 2000. Before his election to the London Assembly, he served as a councillor for the Bayswater ward on Westminster City Council from 2022 to 2026, where he also held the position of Deputy Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development. Small-Edwards holds a degree in politics from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford. Prior to his political career, he was a professional rugby player.
