Jan Busselen

Jan Busselen is a Belgian politician representing the Marxist Workers' Party of Belgium (PVDA). Born in Hasselt in 1979, he graduated as a master of arts in music from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and worked as a jazz musician, music teacher, and audiovisual manager before entering full-time politics. In 2019, he became the first Dutch-speaking elected representative for the PVDA in the Brussels Parliament, where he focused on poverty reduction, education, healthcare, culture, and housing. He was re-elected in 2024 and also took office as a municipal councillor in Jette.
