Jan Nieuwenburg

Jan Nieuwenburg is a Dutch politician and jurist who has served as the Mayor of Hoorn since May 17, 2016. A member of the Labour Party (PvdA), he previously served as a municipal councilor and alderman in Haarlem, as well as a member of the Provincial Council of North Holland. Before his political career, he worked as a legal professional and served as an intelligence officer in the military. In his current role, he oversees portfolios including public order, safety, and regional cooperation, while also holding various supervisory positions in cultural and public safety organizations.
