Jan Peumans

Jan Peumans is a Belgian politician from the province of Limburg and a prominent member of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA). Throughout his long career, he has served as the Mayor of Riemst and held various local council positions. He served as a member of the Flemish Parliament from 2004 to 2019, during which time he acted as the President of the Flemish Parliament from 2009 to 2019. A convinced republican, Peumans is known for his advocacy within the Flemish Movement and his active involvement in regional governance.
