Zuhal Demir

Zuhal Demir is a Belgian politician and lawyer currently serving as the Flemish Minister for Education in the Diependaele Government. Born in Genk to Kurdish parents, she previously served as a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and as Secretary of State for Poverty Reduction. Throughout her career, she has held various ministerial portfolios, including Justice, Environment, Energy, and Tourism. Known for her firm stance on integration and language proficiency, Demir is a prominent figure in the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) and has been a vocal advocate for social security reform and the preservation of Flemish societal values.
