The son of former Polish President Lech Wałęsa, he began his political career in the mid-2000s, serving multiple terms in the Sejm and as a Member of the European Parliament from 2009 to 2019. Throughout his career, he has been affiliated with the Civic Platform party and has held various roles, including director of the Civic Institute. He remains an active representative for the Gdańsk constituency.
