Previously, she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. A graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Houston Law Center, she began her career as a public defender and operated her own law firm. Known for her progressive stances, Crockett has focused on voting rights, criminal justice reform, and economic equity. She is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and the House Judiciary Committee.
