Javed Ahmed Khan

Javed Ahmed Khan is an Indian politician and a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Kasba constituency. A long-standing figure in West Bengal politics, he previously served as the Minister for Disaster Management from 2011 to 2026 and held various roles within the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, including Member, Mayor in Council and Leader of the Opposition. In 2026, following public criticism of his party's policies and involvement in a dissident faction, he was expelled from the All India Trinamool Congress. He has faced various legal challenges throughout his career, including allegations of disproportionate assets and involvement in post-poll violence.
