Jay Adams

James Cecil Adams, Jr. is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. Representing the 96th district, which includes parts of Catawba County, he has held his seat since 2015. Adams earned a Bachelor of Science in education from The Citadel and later studied mechanical drawing, computer science, and real estate at Catawba Valley Community College. Before his legislative career, he obtained his real estate license in 1983 and has been a resident of Hickory, North Carolina, since 1975. Throughout his tenure, he has served on various committees, including roles as Chair of the Wildlife Resources Committee and Vice Chair of the Judiciary IV Committee.
