Jean-François Simard is a Canadian politician and academic currently serving as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Montmorency. First elected in 1998 representing the Parti Québécois, he served as a delegate minister in the cabinet of Premier Bernard Landry before leaving office in 2003. Following a career as a lecturer and teacher at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, he returned to the National Assembly in 2018 as a member of the Coalition Avenir Québec. He holds a doctorate in sociology from Université Laval.
