A native of Ontario County, New York, Gallahan previously spent 15 years in local government, serving as a member of the Manchester Town Council and as the town supervisor. Before entering politics, he worked as a union machinist for the General Railway Signal Company and later as a sales employee and manager. In 2017, he and his wife founded the CR7 Food Trailer and Catering business.
