Jeff Leal is a Canadian politician currently serving as the 63rd mayor of Peterborough, Ontario, having been elected in 2022. Previously, he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2003 to 2018, where he held several cabinet positions under Premier Kathleen Wynne, including Minister of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affairs. His earlier career included serving on the Peterborough City Council from 1985 to 2003. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on infrastructure funding, job creation, and retirement security legislation.
