Jennifer French

Jennifer French is a Canadian politician serving as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Oshawa since 2014. Born in Winchester, Ontario, she spent her early years in the United States before returning to Canada to attend Queen's University, where she earned a degree in biology. Prior to her political career, she taught elementary school in Oshawa for eight years and spent three years teaching in Japan. As a member of the New Democratic Party, she has served as a critic for various portfolios, including Transportation, Infrastructure, and Highways. She is noted for her advocacy on local community issues, including her successful campaign to remove tolls on Highways 412 and 418 and her efforts to secure provincial funding for the Back Door Mission in Oshawa.
