Jerônimo Rodrigues is a Brazilian politician, agricultural professor, and bureaucrat who has served as the Governor of Bahia since 2023. A member of the Workers' Party, he made history as the first self-declared indigenous governor in Brazil. Before his election, he held various high-level positions, including state secretary for education and secretary of rural development under the administration of Rui Costa. His tenure as governor has focused on public security, infrastructure projects such as the Salvador–Itaparica Bridge, and expanding public education initiatives.
