James Andrew "Jim" Burgin is an American politician serving as a member of the North Carolina Senate, representing the 12th district since his election in 2018. Prior to his tenure in the state legislature, he served on the Harnett County Board of Commissioners. Within the Senate, Burgin holds leadership roles as the chair of the Appropriations on Health and Human Services committee and the Health Care committee. He is notably recognized as one of the few Republicans in the North Carolina General Assembly to support Medicaid expansion, having worked on legislation to advance this policy.
