Jim Carns

Jim Carns is an American politician and businessman currently serving as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives for the 48th District. A graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in engineering, Carns has had a long legislative career, having served in the House from 1990 to 2006 before returning in 2012. During his tenure, he has held leadership roles including Chairman of the House Republican Caucus and Minority Leader. Known for his focus on economic and social policy, he has sponsored significant legislation in Alabama, including the state's first voter ID law, welfare reform initiatives, and the establishment of the Holocaust Commission.
