Before entering politics, he enjoyed a successful career on the ATP tour, achieving a career-high doubles ranking of 29 and winning six ATP doubles titles. A graduate of Stanford University and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, he previously served on the board of trustees for Jackson Township, Stark County, Ohio, from 2020 to 2022.
