João Azevedo

João Nuno Ferreira Gonçalves Azevedo is a Portuguese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Viseu, a position he assumed in 2025 after securing the first-ever victory for the Socialist Party in the city. Previously, he served as a member of the Assembly of the Republic starting in 2019 and was the mayor of Mangualde from 2009 to 2019. Azevedo holds a degree in Physical Education and has been a prominent figure in local administration, notably declining a government invitation from António Costa in 2022 to focus on his commitment to the Viseu City Council.
