Joanna McClinton is an American politician serving as the 141st Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 2023, becoming the first woman to hold the position. A member of the Democratic Party, she has represented the 191st district since 2015. Prior to her speakership, she served as House Majority Leader and Minority Leader. A former public defender, McClinton focuses her legislative work on criminal justice reform, education reform, and expanding voting rights, including the introduction of the K. Leroy Irvis Voting Rights Act.
