Joaquin Castro is an American politician and lawyer who has represented Texas's 20th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013. Castro is known for his work on foreign affairs and intelligence committees, as well as his advocacy for immigrant rights and his role as an impeachment manager during the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump. He is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School and is the identical twin brother of former HUD Secretary Julián Castro.
