Joe Szakacs is an Australian politician and trade unionist who has served as a member of the South Australian House of Assembly for the electoral district of Cheltenham since 2019. Born in Adelaide, he was a competitive swimmer in his youth before pursuing a career in law and the trade union movement, notably serving as state secretary of SA Unions. Since entering parliament, he has held several ministerial portfolios, including Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, and currently serves as the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport in the second Malinauskas ministry.
