Joel Kitchens

Joel Kitchens is an American politician and veterinarian serving as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 1st district since 2015. Born in Washington, D.C., he earned his bachelor's and veterinary degrees from Ohio State University before establishing a private practice in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, in 1984. Prior to his state-level service, he was a member and president of the Sturgeon Bay School District Board of Education. Kitchens is a member of the Republican Party and has gained national attention for his legislative commentary on abortion, drawing on his background in veterinary medicine to discuss fetal development.
