Johannes Fridrich is a German politician and legal scholar who has served as the Lord Mayor of Nürtingen since August 1, 2019. Born in Tübingen in 1977, he studied law at the universities of Tübingen and Aix-Marseille before entering the judicial service of Baden-Württemberg. Prior to his election, he worked as a judge at the Stuttgart Regional Court, a consultant at the Ministry of Social Affairs, and a press spokesperson. He holds a doctorate in law and was elected as an independent candidate in the first round of the 2019 mayoral election with nearly 55 percent of the vote.
