John Eric Braun is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 20th legislative district. A member of the Republican Party, he has held the position of Senate Minority Leader since 2021. Before entering politics, Braun served seven years on active duty with the United States Navy and worked as the president of Braun Northwest, a family-owned emergency vehicle manufacturing company. He holds degrees in electrical engineering and business administration. In 2025, he announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington's 3rd congressional district for the 2026 election.
