John Hoffman

John A. Hoffman is an American politician serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate, representing District 34. First elected in 2012, he previously served on the Anoka-Hennepin School District Board and worked with the Federal Interagency Coordinating Council. Within the state legislature, he has held the position of minority whip and currently chairs the Human Services Committee. In June 2025, Hoffman and his wife survived a politically motivated assassination attempt at their home, after which he continued his recovery and returned to public life.
