John I. Kane

John I. Kane is an American politician and trade union leader currently serving as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 9th District, a position he has held since 2021. Before entering politics, Kane worked as a professional plumber and served as the Business Manager of the Philadelphia Plumbers Local 690. In the State Senate, he focuses on labor and industry issues, environmental protection, and public health, notably sponsoring legislation to mandate lead filters in school drinking water. He is a proponent of mail-in voting and has consistently opposed efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.
