John I. Sauls

John I. Sauls is an American politician and pastor serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for the 51st district. First elected to the state legislature in 2002, he returned to office in 2017 and has since served in various leadership roles, including chair of the Commerce and Ethics committees. A Vietnam-era veteran and former Lee County Commissioner, Sauls is known for his conservative policy stances, including his support for voter ID requirements and his opposition to state-run lotteries and certain alcohol-related deregulation measures.
