John James is an American politician, businessman, and former military officer serving as the U.S. representative for Michigan's 10th congressional district since 2023. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he served eight years in the U.S. Army as an AH-64 Apache pilot. Before his election to Congress, he held leadership roles in the supply chain management industry. Politically, James identifies as a pro-life, pro-business conservative. In April 2025, he announced his candidacy for governor of Michigan in the 2026 election.
