Jorginho Mello

Jorginho Mello is a Brazilian politician currently serving as the Governor of Santa Catarina. Born in Ibicaré, he began his political career as a state representative in the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina before serving in the Chamber of Deputies. He was elected to the Federal Senate in 2018, where he served until 2022. Throughout his career, Mello has been a member of the Liberal Party and has supported various economic reforms, including the Simple Credit Company law. In 2022, he was elected governor with a significant majority of the vote.
