Joseph Beti Assomo is a Cameroonian civil administrator and politician who has served as the Minister of Defense since October 2, 2015. Born in Ayos, he began his career in the public service in 1983, holding various administrative roles including sub-prefect and prefect in several departments. Before his ministerial appointment, he served as the governor of the Far North Region and subsequently the Littoral Region. He is a graduate of the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM).
