Jules Bijl

Jules Bijl is a Dutch civil servant, diplomat, and politician affiliated with the Democrats 66 (D66) party. Born in Rotterdam, he studied constitutional and administrative law at Erasmus University Rotterdam. His extensive career includes serving as a municipal secretary, director of the cabinet for the Governor of the Netherlands Antilles and Curaçao, and as the Dutch ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago and seven other Caribbean states. Domestically, he has held various roles, including alderman in Vlaardingen and acting mayor of Eemnes, Montfoort, Leidschendam-Voorburg, Schiedam, and most recently, Lansingerland until December 2025.
