Julio Menchaca

Julio Menchaca Salazar is a Mexican politician currently serving as the Governor of Hidalgo. Born in 1959, he began his political career with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) before aligning himself with the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) in 2017. Prior to his current role as governor, he served as a deputy in the Congress of Hidalgo and represented the state of Hidalgo as a senator from 2018 to 2022. His transition to Morena marked a significant shift in the political landscape of Hidalgo, ending the long-standing dominance of the PRI in the region.
