Kosaku Kusunose is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Susaki City in Kochi Prefecture. Born in Tosa City in 1960, he moved to Susaki at age twelve and later graduated from Tokyo Keizai University. Before entering politics, he worked in the private sector, including roles as a company executive and as a founding member of Susaki Cable Television. He was first elected mayor in 2012 with support from local branches of the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party, and has since secured four consecutive terms, including multiple re-elections by acclamation.
