Kabir Hashim is a Sri Lankan politician and economist who has served as a long-standing Member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka representing the Kegalle District. Throughout his career, he has held significant ministerial portfolios, including Minister of Highways, Higher Education, and Investment Promotion. He also served as the General Secretary of the United National Party, a position he assumed in 2014. Educated at Royal College Colombo and Trinity College Kandy, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors from the University of Peradeniya. He remains an active figure in Sri Lankan politics, having been first elected to parliament in 2001.
