Kalipada Soren, also known as Kherwal Soren, is an Indian politician, author, and playwright who currently serves as a Member of Parliament for the Jhargram constituency in West Bengal. A prominent figure in Santhali literature, he has authored numerous plays, poems, and stories, and was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2007 and the Padma Shri in 2022. Before entering politics, he had a career at the State Bank of India. He was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha in 2024 as a candidate for the Trinamool Congress.
