Michihito Kaneko is a Japanese politician, pastor, and former diplomat currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before transitioning into religious ministry and education. He was elected to the House of Councillors in 2022 representing Nippon Ishin no Kai. Kaneko also serves as the representative for the Hyogo Ishin no Kai and as the policy research council chair for his party's parliamentary group in the House of Councillors.
