木村英子

Eiko Kimura is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Reiwa Shinsengumi party. Born in Yokohama in 1965, she sustained a severe spinal cord injury in infancy, which resulted in significant physical disabilities. Throughout her career, she has been a prominent advocate for disability rights, serving as a representative for organizations such as the Association for Considering Guarantees for All Home-Based Disabled Persons. Since her election to the Diet in 2019, she has worked to improve accessibility within the parliamentary environment, successfully advocating for barrier-free infrastructure and the presence of personal assistants for disabled lawmakers.
