Kao Chin Su-mei is a Taiwanese politician, retired actress, and singer of Manchu and Atayal descent. First elected to the Legislative Yuan in 2001, she has served continuously in the Highland Aborigines electoral district, where she is a prominent advocate for indigenous rights and is associated with the Pan-Blue Coalition. Before her political career, she was a well-known entertainer, starring in films such as Ang Lee's The Wedding Banquet and releasing several Mandopop albums. She is known for her outspoken political views and for representing her heritage through traditional Atayal attire.
