Karen Berg is an American politician and physician serving as a member of the Kentucky Senate, representing the 26th district since 2020. A diagnostic radiologist and former assistant professor at the University of Louisville, she made history as the first Democrat to win her seat in 25 years. Berg is the only Jewish member of the Kentucky State Senate and is a vocal advocate for transgender rights, a cause she championed following the death of her son, Henry Berg-Brousseau. She also serves on the Kentucky Antisemitism Task Force.
