Karen Clark

Karen Clark is a British politician serving as the Mayor of North Tyneside since 2025. Raised in North Tyneside, she studied sociology at Northumbria University and co-founded the Justice Prince Community Interest Company to address regional economic inequality. Before her election as mayor, she served as a councillor for the Longbenton and Benton ward from 2015 to 2025 and held a cabinet position focused on public health and wellbeing. As mayor, Clark has pledged to prioritize economic investment, the creation of quality jobs, the development of affordable social housing, and expanded opportunities for young people.
