Karin Wanngård

Karin Wanngård is a Swedish politician who has served as the Mayor of Stockholm since 2022, having previously held the position from 2014 to 2018. A long-standing member of the Social Democrats, she has served as a city councillor for Stockholm Municipality since 1994. Throughout her career, Wanngård has been a prominent advocate for environmental policy, notably leading efforts to eliminate coal usage in Stockholm and participating in international initiatives addressing climate change in major cities. She previously served as the leader of the opposition in the city council.
