Karina Ruiz Ruiz is a Mexican politician, scientist, and activist who serves as a Senator of the Republic. Born in Tlalnepantla de Baz, she spent much of her youth in the United States as a DACA beneficiary, where she became a prominent advocate for migrant rights and education. Before entering the Mexican Senate in 2024, she served as the executive director of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition. As the first migrant senator in Mexico's history, she focuses on migration policy, foreign affairs, and the development of artificial intelligence.
