Karine Lalieux is a Belgian politician of the Socialist Party (PS) born in Anderlecht on May 4, 1964. She studied criminology at the Université libre de Bruxelles and worked as a researcher and lecturer before embarking on a prominent political career. Lalieux served as a member of the Chamber of Representatives from 2000 to 2019, held local municipal executive roles in Brussels, and served as the federal Minister of Pensions, Social Integration, Fighting Poverty, Persons with Disabilities, and Beliris in the De Croo government from 2020 to 2025. She subsequently took up mandates in the Brussels-Capital Region Parliament and regional government.
