Karl Freller

Karl Freller is a German politician and the longest-serving member of the Bavarian Landtag, having held his seat since 1982. A member of the Christian Social Union (CSU), he previously served as a State Secretary in the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs from 1998 to 2007 and as a Vice President of the Landtag from 2018 to 2023. Beyond his parliamentary duties, he has served as the director of the Foundation for Bavarian Memorials since 2007, overseeing the Dachau and Flossenbürg concentration camp memorial sites. Freller began his career as a religious education teacher and journalist before entering state politics.
