Karl Lauterbach

Karl Lauterbach is a German scientist, physician, and politician who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2005. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as the Federal Minister of Health from 2021 to 2025. Before entering politics, he held a distinguished academic career as a professor of health economics and epidemiology at the University of Cologne and Harvard University.
