Kathleen Cates

Kathleen Cates is an American politician serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 44th district. Elected in November 2022, she assumed office on January 1, 2023. Prior to her legislative career, Cates worked in the private sector for a jewelry company and served as an e-commerce manager for Goodwill Industries of New Mexico. She also held the position of CEO at LifeROOTS, a non-profit organization supporting individuals with disabilities, from 2011 to 2021. Since 2021, she has worked as a realtor. In the legislature, she has served on committees including Agriculture, Acequias, and Water Resources, as well as Health & Human Services.
