Kathy Hochul is an American politician and lawyer serving as the 57th Governor of New York since 2021. As the state's first female governor, she assumed office following the resignation of Andrew Cuomo and subsequently won a full term in 2022. Her extensive political career includes serving as a U.S. Representative for New York's 26th congressional district from 2011 to 2013, as well as holding the offices of Lieutenant Governor of New York, Erie County Clerk, and member of the Hamburg Town Board.
