Kathy Tran is an American politician serving as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 18th district. Born in Vietnam, she arrived in the United States as a refugee at seven months old. Before entering politics, she worked for the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Immigration Forum. Elected in 2017 as one of the first Asian-American women in the Virginia House, she has focused on policies regarding reproductive rights, immigration, and labor protections, including efforts to expand collective bargaining rights for public sector workers.
