She was selected by a vacancy committee in 2025 to fill the seat vacated by Sonya Jaquez Lewis. Prior to her legislative service, Wallace worked as a field organizer for Barack Obama's 2012 presidential campaign, served as a federal policy advisor to U.S. Representative Joe Neguse, and held positions in the office of U.S. Representative Yadira Caraveo and the Colorado General Assembly.
